Delivering Aid 80 Miles from the Front

This summer, Kyiv Church of Hope, Faith, and Love—a World Orphan Fund partner—became a holy mess of boxes, bags, and blessings, packing food bound for front-line communities. From the youngest helpers to the oldest volunteers, every can packed, every box sealed, every prayer whispered over these supplies carried hope to places that desperately need it.

A few days later, those same boxes arrived in Samar, in the Dnipropetrovsk region—just 80 miles from the front lines. After a 16-hour drive through fields of sunflowers, blue sky above, and gold below like a living painting of Ukraine’s flag, the packages were placed into the hands of the most vulnerable: elderly men and women, large families, and people living with disabilities.

Each conversation carried the same heartbreak: homes lost not once, but twice. First in evacuation. Then, forever, in destruction.
