Rebuilding a Kitchen to Prevent Shutdown

Angeles Custudios is an orphanage caring for 80 children that’s run by the Carmelite Sisters of the Sacred Heart near Medellín, Columbia. Government authorities were threatening to shut them down if they didn’t completely rebuild their kitchen and reconstruct a bathroom to be in compliance with regulations.

While the orphanage had enough funds to maintain the care of the children, construction expenses at $35,000 were insurmountable and could bankrupt the order. Our generous donors provided the funds for the project and kept the home running.
