God’s Timing

Last month, during the dedication of our expanded Walker Center for Childhood Development in San Lucas, Guatemala, a supporter and one of our board members asked our therapists a simple question: “What’s one thing that would make your work easier?” The therapists didn’t hesitate: “A minibus.”

Not for comfort or convenience, but because they spend hours each week driving from home to home—hours they long to spend helping children stand, speak, and connect. A minibus would allow more children to come to the Walker Center, giving therapists back precious time.

During our trip—and again on the way home—he and his wife kept returning to the conversation: the children they met, the dedication they witnessed, and what a difference one vehicle could make. When they returned home, they shared the need with their business partners, and together they stepped forward with the funds needed.

The impact will be immediate: the number of therapies we can provide will increase by 15%, and two new orphanages have already joined the program.

It’s hard not to see God’s timing in all of this. Had they not asked the question… and understood the need… this door might still be closed. Instead, their “yes” turned an ordinary vehicle into a pathway for healing.

As we approach Thanksgiving, stories like this remind us how much good can happen when people lean in and say yes. Thank you for being part of it.
