A Christmas Miracle for Daniela

When we first visited St. Jude Children’s Home in Gulu Uganda, last year, we were struck by the gentleness of the place. Nothing loud, nothing showy—just 69 orphaned children in small family-style homes, each one led by house-mothers and social workers who offer steady, faithful care day after day.

One of the children we met there was Daniela, who has lived at St. Jude since she was very young. In all those years, she never received a visitor—not once. Still, the social workers believed there was more to her story.

Through field visits, phone calls, and long, difficult investigations, the breakthrough finally came. They found her family. Her aunts, who had temporarily moved away, had been searching for her too.

On November 5th, they met for the first time—it was a small miracle. And this Christmas, for the first time in her life, Daniela will spend Christmas with her family.
