Haircuts for Foster Kids

For nearly two decades, Embrace Texas has served foster and adoptive families across North Texas — many of whom are low-income or caring for children with disabilities or special needs. We’ve been proud to support their work since 2021.

At a recent outreach, 380 children and caregivers enjoyed an accessible family outing — the largest event in Embrace’s history, with nearly one-third connecting for the first time. They also celebrated their 3rd annual “Barbers & Braids” back-to-school bash, where 40 children in kinship or foster care received professional haircuts and braiding, along with lunchboxes, snack packs, and personal care products. 

As the number of foster families they serve continues to grow, so do the needs behind the scenes. Volunteers are managing a constant flow of food, supplies, and donations — often working around a sea of boxes. This week, we funded the construction of new storage and organizational space, helping Embrace get vital supplies into the hands of children and families quickly.
