Emergency Medical Care

Often, we are asked to assist with medical emergencies or when there are life-changing surgeries available that are too expensive to fit into the budget of a children’s home. Because of the support of our donors we’re able to say ‘yes’ to these requests and make a difference in these children’s lives in profound ways.

Earlier this year, we learned about three-year-old Josselyn in Honduras, who had lost nearly all her hearing. We were told in April that she had a high probability of success with cochlear implants, but her orphanage couldn’t afford the surgery or the devices, our donors stepped up and gave Josselyn the greatest gift possible. This year, she’ll hear the sound of Christmas bells for the first time in her life.

In Uganda, sweet baby James was having trouble breathing from blood clots in his lungs. He urgently needed surgery, but his orphanage couldn’t afford it. Three weeks ago, we wired the necessary funds. Baby James is now out of the ICU and on his way to a full recovery.
